This September SEETEST 2022 returned home to Sofia, Bulgaria for its 11th edition. The conference took place on 29-30 in the five-star Grand Hotel Millennium in the Bulgarian capital, but also online, continuing its Hybrid format from last year. Every year the conference is growing bigger and bigger and breaking its own records in terms of attendance, this time boasting more than 700 participants from 25 countries!
The spectacular Grand Hotel Millennium was the conference’s host venue this year, impressing attendees with its style and impeccable service, while Sofia charmed attendees with its atmosphere and energy. And of course, the traditional Social event, which took place in the Central Military Club – one of Sofia’s iconic buildings.
Again, the official organizers – SEETB and Quality House, excelled in the quality organization of the conference. The event started unofficially on September 28 with two excellent full-day pre-conference courses – Testing AI Models by Vipul Kocher and Analysis for Testers by Michael Bolton. Both a great way for participants to dive deeper in those topics and learn from some of the best in their field.
The first day of the conference – September 29 – boasted four half-day tutorial in the morning and four in the afternoon. The day started with ‘Making Agile Work, from the bottom to the top’ by Pablo Garcia Munos, ‘Automation in Testing - Design Patterns for Optimal Approach’ by Predrag Skokovic, ‘Embracing the diversity of communication styles’ by Rob Lambert and ‘Let's build a Continuous Quality Assurance Strategy around your CI/CD pipeline’ by Szilard Szell. The afternoon continued with talks about ‘What Do You Expect? How to Avoid Being Fooled in Testing’ by Michael Bolton, ‘Cloud Migration Testing’ by Vipul Kocher, ‘Testing governance and metrics. How to build transparent and manageable quality process on your project’ by Maryna Didkovska, and ‘High performing teams’ by Jan Grape.
The evening continued with the traditional Social event, which this time took place in a truly beautiful and elegant building – the Central Military Club in Sofia. The club boasts an impressive Neo-Renaissance style both inside and out. A truly regal place for a party, with great atmosphere which was strengthened by the explosive and talented group Silhouette.
The second day of the conference on September 30 continued with our talented session speakers who gave presentations on topics from Agile Testing, AI in Testing and Cloud Testing to Test Automation, Test Management and just Testing in General. This year the Program Committee again had a hard job choosing the best presentations, seeing as there were more than 50 Paper submissions from 19 countries.
The day also included two Keynote presentations – by Pablo Garcia Munos talking about ‘The testers major dilemma: What test method is the best?’ and Michael Bolton with ‘Demonstration, Experiment, and Testing’. Four industrial slots by sponsors also took place – by Visteon Corporation, Milestone Systems, Dynatrace by CodeAttest and Merkle.
Once again SEETEST gave their traditional Best Paper and Best Presentation awards. Best Paper is chosen by the Program Committee out of all Paper submissions for the second conference day – this year the winner was Praveenkumar Prem with ‘Why security in DevSecOps is No.1 challenge?’. Unfortunately, though, he has to reschedule taking part in SEETEST 2022 last minute due to personal reasons, but still takes the prize! Best Presentation was voted in by attendees – the vote of the people went to ‘STEREOTYPES (tabus, cliché and some problems) in everyday life of a QA and how to resolve them’ by Ana Palchevska. And of course, a lot of prizes from SEETEST as well as organizers SEETB were also given out. Congratulations to all winners!
The organizers of SEETEST 2022 would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all their sponsors who supported them throughout this year – Visteon Corporation, Luxoft, Dynatrace by CodeAttest, Merkle, Milestone Systems, EPAM Systems, Coherent Solutions as well as our Social Event sponsor – Metalhead Brewery! A big thank you goes out also to every Participant that joined the conference and the whole support team – thank you for making this experience happen and see you next year in Bucharest, Romania!
